Michael Jackson: Christina Aguilera, LL Cool J, Smokey Robinson to pay tribute to King of Pop

On June 25th, the family, friends and fans of Michael Jackson will remember the fact that the date is the one-year anniversary of the tragic, and untimely death of the King of Pop. According to Us Magazine, in a special one-hour segment on The Early Show on CBS, entitled, The King of Pop: One Year Later, Christina Aguilera, Smokey Robinson, LL Cool J, Marc Anthony and others will pay tribute to the performer that has inspired them and so many others.

Although it has been one year since his death the loss is still felt largely by so many. It is a loss on many levels. Christina Aguilera, LL Cool J, and Marc Anthony have shared what they most loved about Michael Jackson.

Christina Aguilera said of her earlier school days and how MJ had an impact on her:

"Music wouldn't be what it is without someone like Michael Jackson. I remember going to my high school talent show singing 'The Way You Make Me Feel' and being a huge fan of his album Bad. I know all my dancers wouldn't be behind me dancing if it weren't for that."

So many dancers have inspired to be like Michael Jackson -- the man that truly was the dance when he performed. He was the music and the dance.

Husband to Jennifer Lopez, and singer Marc Anthony remembers Michael Jackson and is inspired by the fact that MJ gave his all, sometimes even when it meant sacrificing his personal life. Anthony says:

"A Michael Jackson comes around literally once in a lifetime. They break the mold and I think there're people who just sacrifice their life, their personal life all for the arts. That's what Michael did; he sacrificed his life for the arts."

And finally, LL Cool J, who released a tribute of sorts with "Billie Jean Dream" after the King of Pop passed away says that it was his understanding of the power of music to reach people that inspires him. The rapper and actor says:

"I think one of the coolest things he told me was never limit yourself; the fact that if people can whistle your songs then they can understand it all over the world. Because there are language barriers...People speak different languages all over the world. Melody is king and I think Michael really understood that...What we didn't lose is his legacy and that incredible catalogue and body of work...We may have lost the man, but we didn't lose the legacy. The legacy is actually bigger than that one human being. That legacy touched millions."

These are just a few examples of how MJ has influenced other artists and who will continue to do so for years to come. Michael Jackson was music personified. And while many are still deeply saddened by the loss, he lives on in his music, and he will always be alive through the beautiful legacy that he left the world.

MJ left his message of love to the world, and on Friday, many fans plan to go to Forest Lawn to pay their respects to the artist that has influenced them so greatly.
