Los Angeles (CNN) -- Attorneys representing Dr. Conrad Murray want the jury to see the video of Michael Jackson announcing his "This Is It" tour in London months before his death from a drug overdose.
In a motion filed Tuesday, attorneys for Murray -- charged with involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death -- wrote that at the March 5, 2009, press conference, Jackson announced there would only be 10 shows and "that it was the 'final curtain call.' "They said the video is material to the case because it "allows jurors to see Mr. Jackson's mental and physical condition back in March 2009."
The defense team said this will corroborate testimony of Karen Faye, Jackson's make-up artist, who is expected to testify at Murray's upcoming trial that the singer was "furious" when the number of concerts was increased to 50, and that he expressed concern about physically performing for so many shows.

A week before jury selection begins in the manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson's doctor, the late singer's father renewed calls for an investigation into his son's death.
Joe Jackson, in Madrid to promote a worldwide tour of the hit Spanish musical Forever King of Pop, said he believes Dr Conrad Murray was acting on behalf of other people involved in Jackson's career and said his son had warned his family he would be killed over the publishing rights to hit songs such as Thriller and Billie Jean.
"I want to get the other people that's involved, not just Dr Murray. That's why I'm trying to get a federal investigation, so they can grab them all," he said.
He characterised Murray as "just the fall guy," in an interview with Reuters, but declined to say who else he thought might be to blame in the death of his superstar son.

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- La Toya Jackson, Michael Jackson's sister, insists her pop icon brother was murdered as part of "a conspiracy" and calls Dr. Conrad Murray "the fall guy."
La Toya has upheld that belief ever since her brother died suddenly two years ago.
She tells KTLA her brother was targeted for murder because of his power in the music industry.
"It was pure murder," La Toya told KTLA on Wednesday. "I don't care what anyone says. This was pure murder. This was a controversy. This was all manipulated."

Conrad Murray Not Only One at Fault: Lawyer |

(CBS) In Los Angeles Wednesday, Michael Jackson's doctor declared his nnocence in court for the first time since the pop star's death.
CBS News correspondent Bill Whitaker reports that Murray, surrounded by attorneys, answered the charge against him: involuntary manslaughter.
Murray told the judge, "Your honor, I am an innocent man. I, therefore, plead not guilty."
But prosecutors call the evidence damning. The coroner blames Jackson's death on the powerful surgical anesthetic, Propofol. Murray admits administering the drug to help Jackson sleep, but denies giving a lethal dose.
But could Murray be the only person held responsible for Jackson's death?
